Volunteer in Sri Lanka

Program Overview

This program will be centered around an existing orphanage in Sri Lanka. OneHome Global will coordinate and be on the ground with youth who wish to take a life changing trip to volunteer and explore Sri Lanka! Your day will be structured and built around a meaningful exchange of memories, knowledge and fun with children who live at this orphanage. This is a great chance to connect with kids from drastically different surroundings and build everlasting bonds and friendships for years to come!

OneHome Global has partnered with school boards in US and Canada to be recognized as a not-for-profit volunteer program that students can utilize for credits towards graduation/program requirements. The 2-week trip will account for nearly 80 hours of volunteer hours while also being a life changing experience for you. Join OneHome in a very safe and organized volunteer immersion that is guaranteed to change your life.

FAQs

We know traveling abroad could be scary, we assure you OneHome Global is committed to giving you a very safe, stress-free and enjoyable experience. To further assure you, please check out some FAQs below!

Depends on the home, but on average 25-50 kids.

How many kids will we get to work with in Sri Lanka?

We will encounter a wide variety of kids. OneHome will ensure that the home and the interactions are in line with our safety and comfort standards.

Are the kids friendly?

Alot! You will have chances to teach them cool things you know, learn from them, do projects with them and even play games and sports together! Check out the schedule for a slightly better idea!

What type of activities will we do with the kids?

Of course! We will have a few orientation sessions before the actual trip. This will allow us to get to know each other a little bit better and also plan for how our trip will pan out.

Can I prepare ahead of time for some of the activities?

Don't worry, we do too! Who doesn't miss home? We will ensure that you have the support and backing that you need to feel at home. We will have the necessities to call and talk to your family once a day and if you want someone to come along, that's perfect as well! Reach out to OneHome global and we can share some options.

What if I get homesick?

That is ok! We understand that traveling across the world can be nerve-wracking. You can cancel up to 2 months before the actual trip. After that you will forfeit 25% if cancelled 2 months before and 50% if it's within 30-days. The reason is at these points we would have already paid for most of the tour. But don't fret! Reach out to us, we will be sure to help you the best we can!

What if I change my mind at the last minute?

Food in a different country is hard and scary. Tamil Nadu has become a melting pot of cuisines and cultures. We have a wide array of 4-star and 5-star restaurants that we will be catering our meals from. You can take a look at some of the cuisines when you sign up.

Am I going to survive with the food options?
